Hypocrisy in politics drives me crazy! I know… the two words almost go hand in hand these days and I for one think it’s very unfortunate. So enter now our latest example of it… and it is a blatant example. Sunday, the Washington Post ran an exclusive story about Republican gubernatorial candidate Bob McDonnell’s thesis, written while he was a master’s student at Regents University in Virginia. The document outlines McDonnell’s apparent beliefs about family, government, and moral leadership.

Like many of you, I woke up this morning to the news that Sen. Ted Kennedy had passed away. As a political news junkie, the coverage quickly sucked me in and consumed much of my morning and afternoon.

Traditionally, the fall campaign doesn’t truly begin until Labor Day. In fact our area is usually host to that kick-off with the annual Labor Day Parade and Festival in Buena Vista, followed by another parade the same day in Covington.
