Goodbye loose leaf colletion, I’ll miss you…

On Monday, City Manager Darlene Burcham recapped some of the cuts made to this year’s fiscal budget. It included things like no flowers this year, reduced hours at the public libraries, more infrequent mowing of public property, and no loose leaf collection in the fall.

Gov. Sanford one lucky politician

Despite his best efforts, Mark Sanford may be the luckiest politician around. Yes, his affair was uncovered recently which forced a very public apology. And yes, his wife has kicked him out (temporarily) in the wake of the affair. Subsequently, Sanford has made some very strange moves. He has promised to release records and then backtracked. He has given confessional-style interviews talking about his former mistress as his “soulmate” and about other lustful times in his life.

Palin drops a bombshell. What does it mean?

A major figure in the Republican Party has resigned. No, it’s not embattled US Sen. John Ensign (R-NV). And it’s also not beleaguered Gov. Mark Sanford (R-SC). It’s Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK).
