Today, John and I braved the extreme heat outside to make our second “webisode” of our weather blog, which we decided to name Weather 101 (college students’ blog…get it?).  You may have seen our first video, the Behind the Scenes of WSLS from an intern’s perspective.  But this time we decided to take more of a “meteorological” perspective on our Weather 101, and after some debate, decided to bring you a very fitting Extreme Heat of SW VA in 120 Seconds!  Get excited.  We actually found out some pretty neat facts, and since we are having such extreme heat in our area right now, it is interesting to see how much more extreme things can get around here.  Did you know that Blacksburg has never recorded temperatures over 99º?  That’s right - as hot as it may feel there sometimes, they’ve never even hit the big triple digit mark.  There’s lots more cool little factoids in our video, so make sure you check it out!
