Frankie went grocery shopping

I had to make ANOTHER trip to the grocery store on Saturday.  I had a friend coming into town on Sunday and forgot that I had to stock up on things “she likes”.  Apparently she thinks my obsession with edamame and string cheese is weird.  So, I bought her some egg beaters and york peppermint patties.

With that said..it all started fine.  Frankie was in the passenger seat and whining a little bit at the fact that her “mommy” was about to leave her alone in the car.  Well, I must have underestimated her determination to join me in the grocery shopping.  In a half of a second my little french bulldog was out of the car and booking it towards the Kroger.

In a couple seconds worth of time I pictured her getting smooshed by a car, shot by a grocery store worker…and I realized I was wearing my WSLS 10 winter jacket.  Great!  I couldn’t hide.

Frenchies are fast.  Faster than I realized.  She tore through the doors and into the Kroger grocery store.  People were laughing at me and laughing with me and some folks tried to help, by chasing her, but she thought it was a game.  Finally, I caught her in the condiments aisle..right next to the salt and pepper.  She knew she was in trouble.

She learned to not run away and I learned to not trust her without a leash around her neck.  I can laugh at this event now but when it was happening I think I lost a couple of years off my life.
