I’m on the lookout for lemonade this weekend! More than 150 people are registered in the area to set up lemonade stands to help raise money for Children’s Miracle Network. ALL the money raised from the stands will stay right here in Roanoke to help children at pediatric oncology at Carillion Roanoke Memorial. This is such a wonderful cause. I know first hand what families of children fighting cancer face, including the siblings (my older brother died form cancer two weeks shy of his 11th birthday.) Iit amazes me to see these kids setting up their stands (some doing it while they undergoing treatment) to help people their own age. I look forward to setting up a stand with my daughter when she’s a tad older. What a wonderful lesson they are learning and teaching.
Stands will be up across the Valley through Sunday. You can also stop by a participating Chick-Fil-A Friday and part of the proceeds will go toward the same cause.
