Hospital food fit for a king

I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone list food as a highlight of a stay or visit to the hospital. I’m here to tell you otherwise.

It is a unique idea Lewis Gale offers it’s new mother’s. It’s nice and I promise, through the pain and sleepless nights, it gives you one more thing—in addition to the face of your tiniest new family member—to look forward to. Lewis Gale calls it it’s “Marquis Dinner.”

The night before your departure, dinner arrives to your room. Before your food is brought in, your
“host” sets your table complete with linen table cloth and napkins. The meal itself is unlike anything you’ve chosen from the menu the days before. It’s lobster tails, or steak, or chicken cordon blue… your choice. It’s accompanied with a green spring salad, your choice of asparagus with hollandaise sauce or baby carrots. You could also choose from baked potato or wild rice. Dessert was cheesecake with strawberry or chocolate sauce or tiramisu.

It was delicious but more importantly, it was simply a thoughtful, special treat to send off couples who were leaving with one more addition that they arrived with. It was a great touch to an already wonderful stay. Everyone I came in contact with between meals—from the nurses, the doctors, the man who brought me a newspaper, to the volunteers who brought up flowers—was incredibly friendly and kind, not to mention professional. Thank you for taking care of us.
