The Vonn-Train gets Derailed and It’s off to the Highlands!

  The Drive:
I don’t want to give anything away, but Virginia Tech’s Offensive Coordinator—our good friend Bryan Stinespring—is from Clifton Forge. One of his old coaches has some great stories to tell. You need to tune in!  It’s funny stuff. Bottom line, they are all proud of him—and clearly he made the right career choice..because the tales of his baseball prowess…are…well…legendary!

  The Fairway:
Lindsey Vonn did not win the Super Combine Slalom. She hit a gate—and wiped out. I’m actually glad it happened, because I had her built up to be Superwoman. I still think she’s the best skier out there, but maybe not in all of these events.

  The Green:
The more I think about it, the more I think Virginia Tech takes down Duke in Durham Sunday night. Duke is vunerable to teams that are more athletic—and teams that can defend the three. The Hokies are both, plus they have an internal fortitude that won’t allow them to go away if Duke gets a lead. That will hurt the Blue Devils, because they are a streaky shooting team, and tend to go on cold spells now and again.

  The Jar:
In this season of lent, I am rejecting the default mechanism in us that just goes to the negative. So as I try to embrace the good in everyone—and everything—-It is something we all should try to keep in mind when Tiger Woods speaks to us tomorrow. Just something to think about.
