The Drive:
I have no problem with Ben’s suspension. If it was longer, that would have been fine too. Goodell was pretty clear in his interviews, and frankly I’m really starting to respect this guy. You don’t have to be convicted, or even charged with anything to break his conduct policy. Just like at your work, they make the rules. Break ‘em..and they can discipline you. Protect the shield? OK, that’s a little rah-rah for me. How about—-act like a decent human being. That would be a start.
The Fairway:
The business that is the NFL draft has arrived, and how long ‘til we cringe with the primetime coverage. Too much time between picks in the first round. Yikes. I like the draft, but I’m not sure I’ve ever sat for more than a couple hours and watched—and it is MY JOB. Would you go to New York, put on your Sunday finest,,,if you weren’t sure you were going in the first round? UH….No way. Tebow won’t be there. Good for him. That guy has nothing to prove to anyone. And will the Redskins, please, please take an offensive lineman?
The Green:
I love hockey, I just don’t talk about it much here. But Caps fans are coming out of the woodwork lately. That’s swell, cause I’m one of those guys that will get down and smell the ice…and like it. I covered the Hershey Bears before I got here, and guess who they were affiliated with in the final year before I left Harrisburg, Pennsylvania? You guessed it. Washington. That said, I’m a Flyers fan….but I will enjoy the Capitals run. They are one mean motor scooter of a team.
