The Drive:
What didn’t we see in the spring game? Ryan Williams in pads. Tyrod in a color other than that birdie yellow. And a big play on offense. Which of these things is most disconcerting, and which is most heartening?
You should be THRILLED that you didn’t see a big play from a defensive standpoint. Talked with Coach Foster about it after the game, and he says they have been stressing being fundamentally sound, and that he’s been happy with the way his team has practiced.
The Fairway:
We always should be wondering when a running back is held out of any game and “knee” is mentioned. Coach Beamer glossed over it in the post game presser and said he was going to be fine. I watched Ryan throwing a ball around in sweats before the game and he was moving OK. I fully understand why you wouldn’t want your starter out there in spring game for long—-but it would have been nice to see him for a series.
The Green:
I really can’t tell you who I think got an “A’ and who got and “F” in the NFL draft. These things really can’t be decided until years from now. But I was excited to see somebody take a chance on Tebow. The guy has never let the Gators down, and at that level, that has to mean something. I thought the Redskins were rational, at least. That’s always a positive. For what it’s worth, my pick today to win the Super Bowl—-The New York Jets.
The Jar:
Did you know the International Polo season runs from January thru mid April in Palm Beach? Thanks Soph!
