The Drive: Well, I know I’m dating myself, but I remember the “AINTS”. New Orleans was a bad football team for a long, long time. Then they were just good enough to tease the fans into thinking they might be good enough to break through…but finally…it has happened. We are talking about this because Drew Brees is the quarterback, and because management made a commitment to bring in some talent and hold it. It is no small feat. I will be rooting for them. Can’t help it.
The Fairway: Does anybody really have a grasp on the ACC basketball race? At first I thought Duke, then Georgia Tech, then maybe Clemson, now—Virginia and Maryland? And what about the Hokies? I really have no idea. I was reminded tonight Miami was 15-1 at one point this season. They are now in the conference basement. My gut tells me North Carolina will gather itself, Duke will be consistent, and Georgia Tech will continue to pull upsets. The ACC tournament could be a total and complete guess! That works for me.
The Green: Does anybody realize the PGA tour season is underway? Will Tiger play this year, uh…um…I mean will he play golf? Ok, ok…no more jokes. The guy is somewhere in Mississippi getting treatment. I always needed treatment after LEAVING Mississippi. That’s another story. Let’s watch and see how guys like Mickelson and Furyk and Harrington respond without Tiger there. Plus the young guns, like Kim and others.
The Jar: The Winter Games are approaching….the games are coming..the games are coming! The only thing better than the Olympics?——that new Mint fudge ice cream at Bratchers on 460. I will check the name..and drop it on you again next time! If you like Mint Chocolate chip..you will love this stuff. Awesome!!!!!
