The Drive:
NASCAR needs a full-on, black hat versus white hat feud at the front. I just don’t see it. When I do, the sport is interesting again. Kevin Harvick doesn’t really seem to get involved. Great for him, bad for us. If Jimmie and Denny, or Jimmie and Kurt could have at it through the chase..now there’s some fun. Better yet, is it too much to ask for Juan Pablo to get in? That guy will wreck anybody at any time…to win. reminds me of someone…hmmmmm.
The Fairway:
Every golfer wants to finish the year with the PGA Championship—makes for a great offseason to end it like that! I’m not sure Mickelson is playing well enough..or is healthy enough to bookend the year with majors, but as always I would love to see it. Tiger? Well…I think you know his mind is elsewhere. As it should be.
The Green:
Confident, focused, experienced, unphased. Hokies in the face of the media. I told Bryan Stinespring we need to give him some kind of problem so he’ll quit figeting….well..I guess he has one now with the left tackle situation. Hopefully Becton gets back. I told Bud Foster everyone I’ve talked to just keeps telling me..no matter how many starters he has to replace…don’t worry.. “We’ve got Bud..”. Bud’s response—“Bud doesn’t play”. Great stuff.
