The Home of Golf, the Mid-Summer Classic and J.J. Talk!

  The Drive:
Well…it’s here—and the Drive is pretty important at the Old Course. Gotta stay clear of those bunkers that would swallow a mid-sized car. It plays to Tiger’s game…but..are we sure Tiger has a game right now?  Mickelson never really has embraced links golf, but he has the game, especially if it gets crazy and everybody needs to scramble. Nobody does it better. I know better than to pick a winner.  I know I will be up early to watch, though.

  The Fairway:
I don’t like All-Star games at all, but of the major sports contests, baseball has the best one. At least it is watchable. You can play the game without risking injury—unlike football, and in the NBA…nobody likes to play defense. NHL, too. So…yeah..it’s the best one. Thankfully the NL shakes the monkey free and will have home field in the World Series. I say thankfully cause I’m a Phillies fan, and an NL guy in general.

The Green:
J.J. Redick is looking at a 3 year, 19 million dollar contract with either the Bulls or the Magic. Not a bad situation! The Former Cave Spring and Duke star really upped his game, and the Bulls are putting together a total team that would rival the best in the East—Miami, Orlando, Boston. Orlando’s match-it-or-lose-him decision comes Friday.

The Jar:
Facebook is a nice way to keep in touch, but the whole dimestore philosophy stuff that people swill drives me nuts. Preachy garbage you know they aren’t living, but they are preaching it regardless.  If I need inspiration, and I’m TURNING to FACEBOOK to guide me…then I’ve got real problems. That’s my food for thought. By all means, ignore it. It’s probably just more swill…....
