The Hokies Bubble Burst, the Dance Card, and the Richmond Medal Count!

    The Drive:
Well…this bubble…was one of those bubble-yum…..big sticky bubbles..that popped and stuck to everything that is Virginia Tech. A sticky, yucky mess. The Hokies 23 wins, the Hokies 10-6 ACC mark…did not make the cut. Clearly, the non-conference schedule ranking of third to last of any BCS school squashed the Hokies chances. Speaking of chance..some of this…falls to chance..of course. The New Mexico State upset, the Minnesota run, etc…cut down the out large bids. But the teams the Hokies did play in BCS conferences flat-out-tanking—well that kills you. Georgia, Seton Hall, Iowa, etc. Yikes.

    The Fairway:
I don’t see a lot of chances for low seeds to make runs this year. I mean, I am Captain upset special when picking these things, but this year, it feels like chalk. Number one or two seeds. Pretty tough to find a 3 or four that you think can win the tournament…or even make the final 4. I don’t have picks yet. But, top of my head, I think a lot of Baylor, Kentucky, and West Virginia. And I like Maryland some, too.

    The Green:
For James River, its the first ever state crown for the boys. For Cave Spring, back-to-back state titles. It’s just so, so hard to win one of these things, I am not certain people outside of coaching really understand. So let me say it again. It’s so, so hard to win one of these things! Congrats to both teams. Awesome.

    The Jar:
Here’s rooting for a UConn-Virginia Tech matchup in Blacksburg this weekend!
