The Drive: Redskins Camp was a blast. It had been a while since I’ve covered an NFL camp… but I’ve done my share. Cardinals, Cowboys, Falcons, Titans, Eagles, Redskins(while in Carlisle, PA) and Ravens to name a few. DeAngelo Hall was his usual talkative…never shy self. It was nice to see Will Montgomery again. And I was impressed with Santa Moss, who communicates like me….Santana: I’m like gravy, sometimes its thicker, sometimes its richer, but I always there…..Classic!
The Fairway: Hokies Media day brought a couple of things to light for me. They seem to have a nice mix of young talent and grizzled veterans, they are extremely talented, and they seem to have the whole preseason hype deal under control. And David Wilson….oh David Wilson. The guy dropped enough back flips on us it felt like a Mary Lou Retton tumbling run. He’s an athletic freak who wore a tie to school every day his senior year at GW Danville.
The Green: Did you see Jeff Gordon mash Tony Hornish Jr. at Watkins Glen? WOW. I haven’t seen a hit that hard since Larry Holmes pummeled Randall Tex Cobb. That was an impact.
The Jar: Tiger wins again. The PGA is next? Any takers? Didn’t think so.
