The Drive:
I understand the pressure of the title game, the length of the run, can lead to this. But for the Love of Pete, that was some bad basketball! Happy for UConn, because frankly I’m bitter that Butler ousted Florida when I felt the Gators were a better team. At least I understand the taste of sour grapes and admit it. The Huskies run through the Big East might have been even more impressive than the run through this tournament, simply because it was in consecutive days. Quite an accomplishment for that group.
The Fairway:
Does anybody believe the Orioles are ready to contend? Four and oh! HAHAHA. OK, sorry, I know about five people care about the Orioles and the rest are rooting for somebody else around here. Baseball’s opening just doesn’t hold the same luster anymore, does it? It just doesn’t feel the same as…well….what I refer to as the glory days. That said, the Salem Red Sox opener is Friday and it looks like the weather will cooperate.
The Green:
VCU is signing Shaka Smart to a new 8-year deal. Does anybody believe he will actually be there all eight years? Sorta, kinda doubt it! He is a rising star, and he’s gonna get bought out by one of the big boys in a couple years. Bank on it. Pun intended.
The Jar:
The general who wins the battle makes many calculations in his temple before the battle is fought. The general who loses makes but few calculations beforehand. —- Sun Tzu
