The Drive:  Well, I gotta be honest. I always enjoy when Rockytop takes a hit. Virginia Tech reduced Tennessee to a middle of the road conference foe with a dismantling of the SEC foe.  It was a great program win. Coach Beamer after the game summed it up by saying to take down Nebraska and Tennessee in the same year is quite a feat. Not to mention Miami. Some game related thoughts- Jason Worilds is an animal. He abused the Vols offensive line. Stunning effort. Cody Grimm is the new Zach Thomas. Anybody remember him? I covered him in college at Texas Tech. Great career with the Dolphins. Same build, same mentality, same skill set in my opinion. Hopefully Cody gets a shot in the pros. He’s that good. Speaking of that good—Ryan Williams. Just cut it out! This kid has a legit shot of holding that trophy that has the stiff arm. We’ll see.

  The Fairway:  What world is Gilbert Arenas living in? Apparently not one that has been touched by gun violence…because he would know better. Or is the world these guys live in….so dangerous and violent they have to have guns everywhere?  And the joking?  Please…not about that. Anything else. Just not that.  Suspended now, indefinitely.

  The Green:  What hope do you have that the golf season is going to be anywhere near normal with Tiger Woods in this—-bizarre state of being?  I am reminded because the PGA season gets cranked up..and of course the Masters looms in early April..and Tiger is somewhere on a yacht, or poising for a magazine cover—in seclusion…whatever. Do you think guys like Phil Mickelson, Jim Furyk, Padraig Harrington and the like are ready to roll?

  The Jar:  The real reason you have to believe that Alabama wins it all?  They beat Florida. And the Gators are still scoring on Cincinnati as we speak…....
