Olympic Hockey, the Region Roundball is Underway and Tebow’s makeover

  The Drive:
I won’t beleaguer the point—its a huge upset, but it’s not the miracle on ice. In 1980, the USA team was a bunch of college kids. This group is all NHL pedigree. The Russians in 1980—-the best TEAM in the world, for years—playing together, crushing folks in World Championships. Different times, different comparisons for sure. But it was a big win, and puts Canada in the hot seat. I still like the team from Russia to win the thing. But the US taking out Canada in Vancouver is like the milkman showing up at the garage and changing the transmission the mechanics couldn’t. Kind of embarrassing.

  The Fairway:
Region roundball is underway, and I was at the Cave Spring dismantling of Marion. The Knights look like a Richmond worthy edition again, and they will likely see Northside there. Both teams a Division III, which is kind of a shame. I will not count out Rockbridge County, because I’m hearing some great things out of that bunch. Should be a great tournament. Girls side, Salem looks like they can roll, and the Floyd and Radford girls both look worthy. Just scratching the surface here folks. Lots of ball to be played, and I’m leaving lots of teams out.

  The Green:
Tim Tebow only knows how to work hard. His throwing motion questioned—he’ll change it. The guy is a winner, and Gator fans know never to count the guy out. And he’s got the talent to do this type of thing—like Tiger changing his golf swing. He can, and he will. Will he be a great NFL QB?  No telling. But he will do all the things necessary to give himself the best possible chance.

  The Jar:
The Masters is 43 days away. Just sayin…
