The Drive:
Ryan Williams hamstring will not allow him to play this Saturday at Boston College. Honestly, that should not be a factor. At the Hokies deepest position, they can afford one injury for now. I am actually looking forward to seeing Darren Evans get some carries. The guy gets stronger and stronger as the game wears on. And David Wilson…well he doesn’t need to get the motor warm, he’s a jackrabbit from the jump.
The Fairway:
Sorry Braves Fans, but the Phillies are better. They just needed to get healthy. They hung around all summer with backups and makeshift bullpen. Like the ugly guy in the fight, they don’t mind getting punched in the face a couple of times, so long as they can land the KO blow.
The Green:
Watching Miami take apart a Pittsburgh team that was supposed to compete with Cincinnati for a shot at the Big East..er..uh..Least….title. Miami’s defense looks fierce. I have no idea if that’s a really talented Miami team, or a really pedestrian Pitt club. We’ll see. But that November trip to Miami looks huge for the Hokies.
The Jar:
Clint Bowyer’s car was exactly 60-1000ths out of spec. Please. He would not have even won the race had Tony not run out of gas. NASCAR might well lose this one on appeal. Bowyer’s car had to be pushed to victory lane by a wrecker..which could have messed up the frame/body marriage on the way.
