My Chapel Hill experience, Vick-Mania and Hoopla is underway.

  The Drive:
Well….please…oh…pluuueeeazzeee, Chapel Hill, ease back. I mean, you folks are just crazy football fans. Button down polos and well pressed khaki’s, lots of garden chairs and very little yelling, cheering, or basic football fanatic skills. It was scary sedate. I felt like I was in church, except you were all wearing that washed out blue….oh..that’s right you call it Carolina. I call it Butch Blue.  Whatever. Anyway, I always feel like I have to say I’m a Florida grad, simply because everybody wants to put a Hokies spin on everything. It has nothing to do with that. Chapel Hill…was like a Chapel. Which is fine, but it’s not football. It’s….something else.

  The Fairway:
Michael Vick is once again what everyone expected him to be coming out of Virginia Tech—-the most dangerous offensive threat in the game. His performance against the Redskins was nothing short of remarkable, and not matter where you fall on his past, you have to like his future. My only problem…as an Eagles fan—is this. All of the Eagles playmakers—Vick, Jackson, and McCoy…are injury prone. So if Philly wants to make a run, they need to get a little lucky..and stay healthy. Time will tell.

  The Green:
The Hokies need a frontcourt. Kansas State exposed the Hokies lack of depth and injury situation—and not that they wouldn’t do that to most—they are…after all, the 3rd ranked team in the nation—-but Virginia Tech needs to get some folks back or this could be a longer, tougher year than most anticipated. If every game is a stuggle, then when it finally comes to tournament time..these guys will be looking for a whirlpool instead of the next challenge. Just saying.

  The Jar:
Denny. Jimmie. Harvick.  Our resident guru James says Harvick. Our smitten producer says Jimmie. And I say Denny. Let the chips fall as they may.
