Hokies picked 3rd…in the Coastal? -the Cavs collapse and Dover on the horizon

  The Drive:
Tony Barnhart’s article wasn’t something on my radar—but Frank Beamer has put it there. He brought it up to me in an interview where frankly—I wasn’t expecting to be talking about anything beyond the banquet he was speaking at and whether or not he was ok after his injury getting off an airplane recently. But I read Tony’s article, and it certainly is the type of material that can be used to motivate the Hokies. Virginia Tech is in about every preseason top ten I’ve seen so far..and I know the polls that matter won’t be coming out until late summer—-but 3rd…in the Coastal division? WOW. It’s bold..but he’s been called Mr. College Football. So we shall see. Coach Beamer didn’t hesitate to tell the entire banquet room about it—so expect to hear it a few more times.

  The Fairway:
What in the world was Lebron doing in game five?  Was he tanking?  Was he tired? Was he hurt?  Or…..allow me to float my theory—-he was making a point. Let’s look at my team—-without me. Not much there. Now…if I go to New York——-Hmmmm. and get Tony Parker to work with. Or in Chicago—-Derrick Rose—-or Noah…or Chris Bosh. I think Cleveland just got message….get me a number two banana….or watch he pack the Samsonite…and see ya.

The Green:
Dover has me on edge. Why? Cause our resident guro of NASCAR says Jimmie…again. Ugh. Not again!  But he’s the guy there, and I know that. I’m wondering if maybe the concrete can’t bite him with some bad luck..and maybe an RCR car can win there?  Our guru also like Truex…so we’ll see. I’m wondering when Jeff Gordon breaks through. That guy’s gotta start wondering what he has to do.  Finally, if Denny Hamlin is gonna be a contender, then let’s see a top ten out of him—that will prove he can adapt to a track he’s been bad out. Test of metal there.

The Jar:
Ever try too hard with people?  Sometimes less is more.
