The Drive:
NASCAR got what it wanted. People are talking NASCAR. Drivers are mad at each other—and NASCAR is stepping in..and everybody is weighing in. Rusty Wallace was hilarious! He reverted back to his ole’ driver ways, and wanted to talk about why Brad is not respected among his peers. The writers were weighing in that NASCAR needed to send a stronger message…blah blah. Have at it Boys! My gut on this, is that NASCAR wanted the drivers to mix it up..and they got it. What they didn’t bargain for, is this new ride to go AIRBORNE…and lead to a really dangerous crash. That’s the biggest thing to come out of this. They need to find a way to keep these rides on the ground.
The Fairway:
This whole Landesberg suspension deserves some examination. Let me say this—I don’t know what the rules are for a scholarship athlete at UVA. If he signed an agreement to attend classes..then suspend the guy. But I know plenty of students..and plenty of athletes—for that matter…who got good grades without going to all the classes. Get your notes, read the book, go talk to the prof during his office hours—whatever. I don’t think we need to be in the business of having athletes sign in. Either they learn the material and stay eligible..or they don’t. Why would we care how many lectures he listens to in person, or on tape? Who am I…or who is the UVA administration—to tell somebody how they can best learn? Was he failing? Not sure. If we was..again…by all means..suspend him. But not for missing class. I really don’t see why we should care…just learn the stuff.
The Green:
Cave Spring and the boys are back in the Finals! A rematch with Brunswick….stew anybody? Last year..an overtime win for Cave..and a quest for Brunswick to get back and “Stop Henderson”. Good luck..and get ready to get threes dropped all over you if that’s your plan. Cave Spring will only lose to a balance attack, well rounded—and somebody who can D up. We’ll see.
The Jar:
The Hokies…on one of those networks…one of 20 teams…bidding for 9 slots? Still on the bubble…really?
