The Drive:
The slap on Gibbs is that they couldn’t match Hendrick often enough at those mile and half tracks. Denny has been labeled a short track team. I think times are a changin. Denny wins, Kyle is third at Texas. When Denny won Homestead last year, I thought he might be on to something. Now I’m pretty certain he’s the guy that can make a run at Jimmie—because he’s less reckless than Kyle in most situations, but still willing to take chances to win.
The Fairway:
Well…just when you think all is lost, a guy like Brian Davis comes along. The Englishman had never won on the PGA tour, and he still hasn’t. But he called a two stroke penalty on himself to lose in a playoff to Jim Furyk, on a swing you would never have been able to tell touched a loose impediment had they not super slo-motion replayed the thing—but only after he called the penalty. Good for him. Golf is all about honor. At least it used to be. Nice to know it is not dead.
The Green:
I am not a Redskins fan, but if they don’t choose an offensive lineman, or two, or three—with top picks in this draft I may declare the end is near. Dogs and cats, living together—Mass hysteria!
The Jar:
The kids LOVED the kite festival this past weekend at Green Hill Park. Awesome!
